Canoe paddling is one of the most versatile and accessible ways to explore Oregon's waterways, and Alder Creek's intro canoe class teaches the forward stroke, J-stroke, draw, and pry techniques needed to confidently control a canoe solo or with a partner. The half-day session takes place on flatwater near the Portland store and all equipment is included in the class fee. Students leave with the skills and confidence to rent a canoe independently and explore the Columbia Slough or other local waterways.
