The Harvey Milk Photo Center at 50 Scott Street in Duboce Park is the oldest and largest community wet darkroom in the United States, managed by San Francisco Recreation and Parks since 1954, running hands-on film photography and darkroom printing classes taught by working professional photographers. Classes cover 35mm film shooting, hand developing, and making silver gelatin prints in the darkroom so you leave with physical photographs you made by hand in a traditional wet process. The center runs more than 300 classes and workshops a year and is one of the few places in the Bay Area where adults can learn analog photography in a fully equipped facility.
