Malashock Dance's Thursday Intro to Modern class is the entry point into contemporary modern technique at the school, covering fundamental floor work, swings, falls, and the use of weight and momentum that define modern dance as a form. The instructor guides students through the physical logic of each movement so it makes sense in your body rather than just looking right from the outside. The session is drop-in and suits complete beginners as well as students who have taken jazz or ballet but not modern.
