The ASA 101 certification course covers sailing theory, terminology, sail trim, points of sail, tacking and jibing, docking, seamanship, knots, and on-the-water safety over 16 hours split between classroom instruction and hands-on sailing in Charleston Harbor. Completing this course earns a nationally recognized ASA 101 certification that allows graduates to charter bareboat sailboats at many marinas in the US and internationally. Classes run on weekend mornings with a licensed USCG captain and are kept small so every student gets substantial time at the helm.
