Honolulu Printmaking Studio offers etching and intaglio workshops where students work with copper or zinc plates, acid-resist grounds, and the etching press to create deeply detailed fine-line prints that are impossible to achieve with relief or screen printing. Instructors cover the process from drawing the image on the plate through etching, inking, wiping, and pulling prints, with attention to the unique expressive qualities of intaglio line and tone. Operated through the Honolulu Museum of Art School, the studio has professional printmaking equipment available for student use.
