Dialogue in fiction and nonfiction carries character, conflict, and subtext simultaneously, but most writers write it as though it only needs to convey information. This workshop covers how to write dialogue that sounds like people rather than scripts, how to use silence and interruption, and how to tag and punctuate it correctly. You draft a two-page scene that lives mostly in dialogue and receive written feedback from the instructor.
