Benchmark's complimentary introductory session covers everything a first-time climber needs to get started safely and effectively: how to read a bouldering route by its color-coded holds, the basic footwork and body positioning that make climbing more efficient, how to fall safely, and what the gym's etiquette norms are. The session runs on weekday evenings and weekend afternoons, is free with a day pass, and is taught by Benchmark staff who climb regularly themselves. By the end you will be ready to explore the walls independently.
