Intro to Pottery

About this class

The introductory pottery class at Chastain Arts Center covers the fundamentals of wheel throwing and hand-building in a single accessible session inside the center's well-stocked ceramics studio. Students learn how to wedge and center clay, open a base, and shape simple forms with instructor guidance throughout. All clay, tools, and firing are provided, and participants leave with their first piece ready to be glazed and picked up after the kiln run.
