Surf Education Academy runs a ninety-minute beginner group lesson at La Jolla Shores with a maximum 1:5 instructor-to-student ratio so instructors can get into the water and give hands-on corrections while you learn to paddle, pop up, and ride your first waves. The school is one of a small number of City of San Diego permitted surf operations. Wetsuit and surfboard are provided and instructors hold surf coaching certifications plus CPR and first aid.
