The hand-building workshop at Earth and Fire Studio covers the slab, coil, and pinch pot techniques that produce handmade ceramic forms without requiring a wheel, making it an ideal starting point for students who want to make pottery at their own pace with a more sculptural approach. The instructor demonstrates each method and students work through a small project using whichever technique suits their vision, with advice on form, wall thickness, and drying available throughout the session. Pieces are bisque fired and available for glazing at a follow-up open studio or glazing session.
