Stand-Up Comedy Fundamentals

About this class

Third Coast Comedy Club stand-up fundamentals class teaches students to write and perform original comedy material by working through premise identification, punch line structure, and the physical and vocal elements of delivery that make the difference between material that sounds funny in your head and material that actually lands in front of an audience. Students write new bits each week, perform them for the class, and receive structured feedback from the instructor on what is working and what to develop. The course culminates in a short set at the Third Coast stage.
