McCheek's Studio intro hand-building class teaches students to construct pottery and sculptural forms without a wheel using slab rolling, coil building, and pinch pot techniques in a relaxed Heights neighborhood studio. The instructor demonstrates each method before students work on their own pieces, with individual help available for joins, handles, and surface decoration throughout the session. Students leave with two to three greenware pieces ready for the kiln and a clear sense of which technique suits their creative instincts best.
