Nombe SF at 1501 Cortland Avenue in Bernal Heights is a Japanese gastropub that runs hands-on cooking classes in sushi rolling and ramen making, led by Mari Takahashi and her culinary crew who bring more than twenty years of teaching experience to each session. The sushi class covers rice seasoning, fish slicing, and bamboo-mat rolling before your group plates its own assorted rolls, while the ramen class walks you through building broth, preparing toppings, and assembling a bowl from scratch. Both classes finish with everyone eating together and all ingredients are provided.
