Columbia Heights Ceramics beginner wheel throwing class covers the full foundation of working on the pottery wheel: wedging clay to remove air, centering the mass on the wheel, opening a base, and pulling walls to form a cylinder or simple bowl. The instructor demonstrates each step before students attempt it on their own wheel, with individual coaching available throughout the session. All clay, tools, and one included firing are provided so students arrive with nothing and leave with their first handmade piece.
