Pratt's sculpture studios host a Saturday carving session where students work in soapstone or alabaster, learning to use rasps, rifflers, and wet-dry sandpaper to shape three-dimensional forms. The instructor demonstrates how to read the stone, plan a form, and move progressively through roughing, refining, and polishing stages. Materials including a block of stone and all carving tools are provided.
