Capitol Hill Arts Workshop's beginner hand building class introduces three foundational techniques: pinching, coiling, and working with slabs of rolled clay. Over the session you try each method and build at least one small finished piece that gets bisque fired and glazed in a follow-up session. Instructors are patient with first-timers, and the Capitol Hill community that fills the room makes it a welcoming place to learn a slow, tactile skill.
