The UpGrade Series is First Ascent's intermediate skills development program, offering focused 90-minute sessions where an experienced instructor teaches specific technique concepts like heel hooks, compression, slopers, and movement efficiency through drills and coached climbing on routes chosen to isolate the target skill. The format assumes participants can already climb V2-V4 and are ready to break through technique plateaus with deliberate practice and real-time feedback. Participants come away with a concrete understanding of what they need to work on and drills they can practice independently on any visit.
