The Center for Wooden Boats offers a Saturday rowing session in traditional wooden wherries on Lake Union, teaching the catch, drive, and feather of a proper oar stroke while students experience the quiet pleasure of human-powered rowing. Instructors demonstrate from a coaching vessel alongside the students and offer corrections on timing, balance, and blade depth. No experience is needed and the session is appropriate for adults of any fitness level.
