About this class
Slab construction uses flat sheets of clay rolled to an even thickness, then cut and assembled into forms that the wheel cannot easily produce, including square dishes, box forms, and sculptural vessels. This class teaches you to roll and condition slabs, score and slip the joins, and reinforce the seams so the piece survives drying and firing. You build a small lidded box or a rectangular dish to take home after it fires in the NOLA Clay kiln.
