This Sunday workshop at Pottery Northwest explores the science behind ceramic glazes, teaching students to read a glaze recipe, understand flux and colorant behavior, and mix test batches from raw materials. Participants apply test tiles and compare fired results from the studio's reference collection to understand how temperature and atmosphere affect glaze surfaces. A basic familiarity with ceramics is helpful but not required.
