Makeville Studio's joinery class introduces the fundamental joints that make furniture last, covering mortise and tenon, dovetails, and box joints using both hand tools and a router in a three-hour session at their 14th Street Brooklyn shop. The instructor demonstrates each joint before students cut their own in a sample board they keep at the end of the class. All tools and materials are provided and a basic knowledge of the woodshop is recommended but not required.
