This introductory workshop teaches the foundational brushwork of shodo, the traditional Japanese art of calligraphy, using ink, a brush, and washi paper provided on site. Students learn how to hold and control the brush, practice basic strokes, and complete several characters under guidance from a trained instructor. The class is appropriate for complete beginners and no prior experience with calligraphy or Japanese language is required.
