A Saturday build session where students work from measured plans to complete a single weekend project, a keepsake box, floating shelf, cantilevered plant stand, or similar practical piece, using the co-op shop's full complement of power and hand tools under the guidance of an experienced woodworker. The session teaches how to read a cut list, sequence machine operations to minimize waste and error, and troubleshoot the small problems that arise in real project work rather than controlled exercises. Lumber and fasteners are included in the class fee so students arrive with clean hands and leave with a finished object they measured, cut, assembled, and sanded themselves.
