Chain making by hand teaches you the core skill of opening and closing jump rings accurately and consistently, which applies to almost every jewelry technique that follows. You make a small section of three different chain patterns: cable, figure-eight, and Byzantine, working in sterling silver wire that you cut yourself from coil. You leave with three short chain samples and the ability to make a full bracelet at home with the same technique.
