Get your hands on the wheel in this two-hour introduction to wheel-thrown pottery at Merritt Ceramics, a 5,500-square-foot studio a quarter mile from Lake Merritt with over thirty electric wheels, multiple kilns, and all the clay and tools you need included. Instructors guide you through centering, opening, and pulling the walls of a simple cylinder, and by the end of class you'll have made at least one piece to dry, bisque-fire, and glaze in a follow-up session.
