Basic Sailing Class on Mission Bay

Mission Bay Aquatic Center's Basic Sailing class introduces you to a small dinghy on the protected waters of the bay, covering rigging, points of sail, tacking, gybing, and right-of-way in a two-and-a-half-hour session. The center runs one of the largest small-boat fleets in California with over 50 boats available, and the instructors keep groups small enough that you spend the majority of the time with your hands on the tiller rather than watching. The bay's steady afternoon sea breeze makes it one of the better places to learn sailing in San Diego.
