The Risograph is a Japanese stencil duplicator originally built for office printing that independent publishers and zine makers have adopted as an art medium: its layered, slightly misregistered colors and the particular texture of its soy-based inks are unlike anything else. In this three-hour workshop led by a practicing Risograph artist, you'll learn to prepare your image files, make stencils in two colors, set registration marks, and print a small edition of 10–20 copies. You leave with your full printed edition, an understanding of the machine's idiosyncrasies, and the knowledge to use Risograph print studios in NYC and beyond. All paper, ink, and stencil film provided.
