Glass blowing at 2,000°F is not as difficult as it looks: with proper instruction, first-timers consistently make something beautiful. In this two-hour class, your instructor guides you through gathering molten glass from the furnace on a blowpipe, marving it (rolling to center the glass), blowing a bubble, inflating the form in the steel mold, transferring to the punty rod, and shaping the opening. You choose your own colors from the studio's palette of crushed glass powders. Your finished piece (a small vessel, bowl, or ornament) is slowly cooled in the annealer overnight and ready for pickup the following day. All equipment, safety gear, and glass provided.
