Old World vs. New World Wine Tasting

About this class

This City Winery Atlanta tasting class pits classic Old World wines from France, Italy, and Spain against New World styles from California, Australia, and South America to help students recognize how climate, tradition, and winemaking approach shape the wine in the glass. The instructor leads blind tastings for part of the session so students can test their own perceptions before the reveal. By the end, participants have a concrete mental map of the differences that will help them navigate a wine list with much more confidence.
