Coastal Navigation Workshop

About this class

Coastal navigation uses charts, compass bearings, and tide tables to plan and execute passages within sight of shore, and this workshop teaches the key skills through chart-based exercises in the classroom followed by time on the water. You practice plotting a course, accounting for tidal current, and taking visual bearings to fix your position. You leave with a set of chart plotting tools and a practice chart for Boston Harbor.
