Learn to play Irish traditional music with a small ensemble group that covers the repertoire of jigs, reels, and airs central to the tradition alongside instruction in ornamentation, session etiquette, and the playing techniques used by fiddle, flute, tin whistle, banjo, and ukulele players in a traditional Irish session. The class meets weekly and builds a shared repertoire that students can take to open sessions in the broader DC and Maryland folk music community. Some instrument experience is helpful.
