This intro course demystifies the process of writing and performing stand-up by breaking it into manageable components: finding your voice, constructing a premise, building to a punchline, and recovering from a joke that does not land. You write material between sessions and perform it in class, getting specific feedback from the instructor on what is actually working in each bit. The course ends with a real showcase at the theater.
