This is a 6 to 7-week course meeting once per week. Each session builds on the last, developing personal comedic material through writing exercises and in-class performance. The course culminates in a public show at the Williamsburg theater.
This beginner series focuses on helping students discover what makes their comedy voice distinct, using weekly writing exercises and in-class performance to develop material that feels genuinely personal rather than imitative. The instructor brings festival-level stand-up experience and coaches students on building a set that earns laughs for the right reasons. All sessions take place at BCC's Williamsburg theater and the course wraps with a public performance for an actual audience.
