The Bay Area Glass Institute's introductory glassblowing session puts you at a live furnace alongside an experienced glass artist who guides you through gathering molten glass on a blowpipe and shaping it into a small finished piece such as a tumbler, bowl, or vase. The instructor demonstrates each technique, including gathering, reheating, and shaping, and works one-on-one with you throughout the two-hour session so the experience is hands-on rather than observational. Your finished piece is annealed in the kiln overnight and available for pickup the following day, giving you a completed glass object made entirely by your own hands.
