New York Jazz Workshop's Saturday Brazilian ensemble covers the rhythmic foundations of bossa nova and samba alongside the jazz harmony that makes Brazilian music so compatible with improvisation, all in a small group playing together from day one. The instructor teaches groove, feel, and chord voicings in the context of actual songs rather than isolated exercises, which means you leave each session with something you can actually play. The four-week series meets on Saturday mornings for two hours per session.
