An introduction to woodturning that covers lathe setup, tool selection, and the technique used to turn a wood blank into a finished bowl. Students work with a piece of green or kiln-dried hardwood through the roughing, shaping, and finishing stages while an experienced instructor guides each step. By the end of the class students have a turned bowl they made themselves and the foundation to continue practicing independently.
