Portland Comedy Theater's Intro to Stand-Up class teaches the craft of writing and performing original stand-up material in a nurturing, laugh-filled environment where getting it wrong is part of the process. Students learn joke structure, timing, persona development, and how to handle nerves before performing a short set for the class at the end of the series. No comedy experience is required and the class is designed for people who have always wanted to try stand-up but needed a safe place to start.
