The Chicago Mosaic School is North America's only not-for-profit school dedicated entirely to mosaic art, founded in 2005 in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood. Students of all skill levels work in a fully equipped studio alongside a Gallery of Contemporary Mosaics, learning traditional techniques from direct smalti cutting to modern mixed-media approaches under the guidance of expert instructors. The school offers beginner through advanced courses, weekend intensives, visiting-artist seminars, and a stained glass curriculum, making it a singular destination for anyone curious about working with glass and tile.
