Golden Gate Park Archery Range
๐ 902 47th Ave, San Francisco, CAThe Golden Gate Park Archery Range at the western edge of the park in the Inner Richmond is the oldest public archery range in the United States, operating since 1901, with covered shooting lanes at both 20 and 30 yards open to the public daily and structured beginner lessons available through SF Recreation and Park and private instructors who operate out of the range. Beginner lessons cover stance, grip, draw, anchor, and release using recurve bows provided at the range, with a certified USA Archery instructor walking you through the basics before you start shooting independently. The range has a 4.3-star Yelp rating and is one of San Francisco's most unique and underused recreational spaces, tucked inside the park with free parking nearby.
