UrbanGlass

UrbanGlass is a nonprofit glass arts center in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, operating one of the largest open-access hot glass studios in the United States since 1977. Their introductory glassblowing courses are two-day weekend workshops where complete beginners learn to gather molten glass from the furnace, work in small studio teams, and create forms including solid sculptures, cups, and experimental shapes using color application techniques. All safety gear is provided, and students work with glass at 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit under the guidance of instructors with formal glass training.
