Astor Apiaries

Astor Apiaries is run by Cornell Certified Master Beekeeper Maria Spann from a working urban apiary in Astoria, Queens. The year-long Urban Beekeeping Academy takes students from complete beginners to confident hive managers over 20+ hands-on sessions spent suiting up and working real honey bee colonies at the Queens sky farm. The Honey House retail shop on-site sells the apiary's own varietal honeys and hosts tastings and shorter events throughout the season.
