Bowne & Co. is a working 19th-century letterpress shop inside the South Street Seaport Museum, where visitors can still watch and participate in hand-typesetting and letterpress printing using original equipment and historical typefaces. The monthly workshop lets participants set their own type from the shop's collection, mix ink, and print a custom edition of 35 notecards on a working platen press, with the finished stationery valued at $250. Museum admission to the South Street Seaport Museum is included with every workshop ticket.
