Locals Surf School

Locals Surf School operates year-round from Rockaway Beach, one of the few places within New York City limits where you can actually learn to surf on Atlantic waves. Classes keep no more than three students per instructor, so you get real individual attention rather than watching someone demonstrate from the shore. Everything you need including a surfboard and wetsuit is provided, and the school runs seven days a week through the summer with early morning slots available most days.
