La Rumba's beginner salsa class covers the on-one timing pattern, the basic forward-and-back step, and the cross-body lead in a 45-minute group lesson before the floor opens for social dancing. No partner is required since the group rotates, and the Acoma Street venue is a real Latin nightclub so the atmosphere after class is nothing like a standard dance studio.
