Intro to Fiction: Beginner Writing Workshop (6 Weeks)

About this class

A six-week workshop that uses both published short stories and student work-in-progress as the material for learning, so every class session analyzes a published story alongside two student submissions to show how craft choices play out in professional fiction and in your own drafts. Topics include dialogue, scene structure, point of view, and pacing, with each student receiving written and verbal feedback on their work every other week. The workshop takes place in person at the Center's Downtown Brooklyn space surrounded by its lending library.
