About this class

In this four-hour workshop you'll forge a full-tang survival knife from a bar of high-carbon steel. The process starts at the gas forge, where you heat the steel to a bright yellow-orange and hammer it on the anvil to draw out the blade profile. After rough forging, you'll move to the belt grinder to profile and bevel the blade, drill and file the tang holes, and fit wooden handles secured with brass pins. The finished knife is heat-treated and oil-quenched for hardness, then hand-polished on the buffer. You leave with a real, functional blade you built entirely yourself. All tools, materials, safety gear, and finishing supplies provided. No experience required.
