Intro to DJing — Level 1

About this class

This introductory course covers the foundational skills of DJing on professional equipment, including how to beat-match by ear, how to use a crossfader and EQ to blend tracks smoothly, how to read a dancefloor and choose what to play next, and the basics of scratching using a vinyl slip mat and needle. You practice on Pioneer controllers with Serato software for the full session, and all gear is provided so you do not need to own anything to start. The course is taught in small groups and moves at a pace that lets beginners actually absorb what they are learning rather than just watching someone else do it.
