Intro Paddleboarding on the Chicago River

Urban Kayaks also runs standalone paddleboard sessions on calmer stretches of the Chicago River where an instructor walks you through standing up, balancing, and paddling technique before you spend the bulk of the session exploring the waterway at your own pace. The format is beginner-friendly and the flat river water is much more forgiving than open lake paddleboarding, making it a good first experience on a board. All equipment including the board, paddle, and life vest is included.
