Astor Center on East 4th Street runs a two-hour beginner wine class on Thursday evenings where a professional instructor guides you through six pours covering core grape varieties and styles, paired with bread and cheese throughout. The class teaches you to evaluate aroma, flavor, body, and structure using the same framework trained sommeliers use. Students receive a 20 percent discount on any wine tasted that evening at the Astor Wines shop next door.
