Dance Boulevard's beginner salsa class covers the On1 timing pattern, forward-and-back basic step, cross-body lead, and two or three beginner turn patterns in a one-hour group format taught by a Dance Boulevard instructor who emphasizes the connection and communication between partners rather than just footwork memorization. No partner is required since the class rotates, and no prior dance experience is needed. Dance Boulevard runs this class Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and it is the most direct entry point into the active San Jose salsa community.
